Walk Awhile Along Twelve Mile –Sept.12,‘09 9:30-11:30 AM
Enjoy a nature walk along Twelve Mile Creek in the Oaks of Lexington conservation subdivision. Experience what it would be like to enjoy the wilderness in a neighborhood protected by a conservation easement held by Community Open Land Trust. Developer/landowner Tripp Hunter and naturalist Shannon Smith share their knowledge of this beautiful property and the species that inhabit it. The Oaks is located off Corley Mill Road in Lexington County. Meet us at 9:30 AM at the Hunley Drive cul-de-sac.
The walk will last approximately one hour followed by refreshments
afterwards. We hope to see you there!
Free to members; $15 for non-members; $35 gives you the walk and one year’s membership! Register no later than August 31.
Floating the Saluda - August 29, 2009, 9:30 - 1:30 PM
Join Community Open Land Trust on a leisurely canoe trip down the Saluda River and enjoy the refreshingly cool water during the hot month of August. We’ll conclude our float down the Saluda with lunch served outdoors beneath a canopy of oak, maple and sycamore trees.
Meet us at the end of Riverchase Way at the Canoeing for Kids facility in Lexington County. Arranged transportation will take us to the Hope Ferry Boat Landing and we’ll float down the Saluda back to our point of departure.
$40/person member; $60 for non-members - includes canoe/gear rental and lunch; $75 gives you the canoe trip, lunch and one years membership. Register no later than August 17th.
